Welcome to Term 2
Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and enjoyed time with family and friends.
It is a privilege to begin as Principal at White Gum Valley Primary School and to share my first newsletter with you. I am excited to be part of this community and look forward to getting to know our students, staff and families.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new staff joining our school this term. We are so pleased to have you with us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

A key focus for us this term is continuing to strengthen our PBS values of Safe, Organised and Respectful across the whole school. You will hear us refer to these as our SOR values. These expectations support a positive learning environment and help our students to build strong relationships, take responsibility and be their best every day.
We will also come together this Friday for our ANZAC Assembly. This is an important opportunity for our students to reflect, show respect and develop an understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day.
Swimming is a major focus this term for our Year 4 to 6 students. As a scuba diver, I know how important water confidence and safety are, especially here in Western Australia. It is such an essential life skill, and we are excited for students to build their skills and confidence in the water.
We also have cross country coming up soon. I know many students are already preparing and I have been out running with my huskies, who definitely keep me moving. I am looking forward to seeing our students demonstrate determination and great sportsmanship.
I am really looking forward to connecting with many of you at our Welcome Picnic next Thursday, 30 April. It will be a great opportunity to meet, connect and celebrate our school community together.
Here is to a fantastic Term 2. I look forward to meeting you all soon.
