2027 Booklists, Spelling Mastery and Voluntary Contributions

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we prepare for the 2027 school year, we would like to provide some information about student booklists, Spelling Mastery resources and voluntary contributions.

2027 Booklists

Our school uses Campion Education to supply student booklists and stationery requirements. However, families are welcome to purchase stationery and other booklist items from alternative suppliers, such as Kmart or Officeworks, if they prefer.

The only exception to this is Spelling Mastery books.

Spelling Mastery Books

Spelling Mastery is a structured spelling program that incorporates evidence-based Direct Instruction principles, including explicit teaching, cumulative review and guided practice.

At the beginning of 2027, staff will determine the most appropriate Spelling Mastery book for each student or year group. Books will then be provided directly to students in their classrooms.

In previous years, some families have purchased Spelling Mastery books second hand or through alternative suppliers. For 2027, we kindly ask families to purchase Spelling Mastery books through Campion or the school only.

A new edition of Spelling Mastery is being introduced in 2027. Purchasing through Campion or the school will ensure that students receive the correct edition and the most appropriate book for their learning needs.

Families have two payment options:

  1. Pay through Campion: Include payment for the item WGVPS Spelling Mastery International Book ($36.95) as part of your Campion booklist order.
  2. Pay through the school: If you choose not to pay through Campion, the school will provide the appropriate book and issue an invoice for payment.

This process will allow staff to coordinate resources and ensure every student receives the correct book.

Voluntary Contributions

Families will also receive information about the school’s voluntary contributions for 2027.

Voluntary contributions are separate from the student booklist and are not compulsory. However, these contributions are greatly appreciated and help the school provide additional educational resources and learning opportunities for students.

We understand that families have different financial circumstances, and there is no obligation to make a voluntary contribution.

Payment Support

We recognise that the beginning of the school year can be an expensive time for families. If you are experiencing financial difficulties or would like to discuss flexible payment arrangements, please contact our school office. We are happy to work with families to make suitable arrangements.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation as we prepare for the 2027 school year.
